Massage therapy has been incorporated into 360 Health Care as an important part of our healing therapies. Massage
has a long history of therapeutic value, and is an integral part of health care in the new millennium. With
computers, long work hours, and urban lifestyles, our bodies demand rest and relaxation, and someone to help
work out the knots!
At 360, therapeutic massage is offered in a relaxing atmosphere in a private room with or without music. Massage
therapy is a regulated profession, with licensed practitioners. Our massage therapist is licensed and registered
by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Registered Massage Therapy is often covered by extended
benefits package - check your insurance to see if you have coverage today!
Diana Griffin is the registered massage therapist at 360, and brings a bouquet of talents to the clinic. Diana does
deep tissue work and fascial restructuring where appropriate and requested. Her work also incorporates relaxation
techniques as well as lymphatic drainage. She has also had many years of experience working with pregnancy and
infants.
Diana does a lot of work with sports injuries and trauma. Massage is brilliant when treating tendonitis, sprains
and strains of all kinds, including repetitive strain, It breaks down scar tissue, clears circulation and
re-aligns muscle fibres while supporting the metabolism of healing. To turn around a chronic injury, three
treatments can often be very effective.
One of her areas of specialized training is Craniosacral and Visceral work. She has done extensive training in
Craniosacral and Visceral courses, and is well educated in Somato-Emotional Release. One of Diana's unique
techniques is to incorporate deep tissue work with the Craniosacral and Visceral work. This is a very effective
healing therapy for problems such as whiplash, birth trauma, head injuries, TMJ, and chronic stress conditions.
Some problems that benefit from massage therapy are:
- Repetitive Strain Syndrome (common with musicians and computer users)
- Headaches (from injury or inherited migraines)
- General overuse of muscles (such as from workout routines)
- Both postural and physiological changes as a result of pregnancy
- Pain and discomfort (from such conditions as arthritis)
- Enhances immune function (from emotional stress)
- General healing
